Lay lines of Kamenjak
Marko Pogačnik – the famous artist and alternative scientist in his book “Lay lines” put forth in a interesting study on the energy points of Istria, known as lithopuncture meridians or lay lines. Each visitor of Cape Kamenjak can feel that Kamenjak is a place with a special power of positive energy. An explanation of this phenomenon is offered by Marko Pogačnik book. He recalls that the ancient people knew the movement of the stars according to the “meridian” or the imaginary line that divides the sky. On this lines and on their intersections which represents powerful sources of positive earth energy , they built their temples and shrines. These people believed that healing was more successful and the prophetic dreams were several times more intense.
Lay lines of Kamenjak
Pogačnik explains that the town of Motovun is the centre and source of life energy from where it spreads to the Istrian peninsula , and a significant place in this story belongs to Cape Kamenjak. Motovun is the most powerful source of positive energy in Istria becasue three lay lines intersect there. One line which goes from Motovun to the west passes directly throught the centre of tholos Mali sveti anđel, a hill near Poreč. The second lay line goes almost parallely to the western coast of Istria and connetcs a large megalith on the coast at the foot of Strunjan with the remnants of the megalith on Cape Kamenjak. It is assumed that the lay line that goes from Devin in Italy to Cape Kamenjak, the only one that runs along the entire lenght of the Istrian peninsula (about 90 km), gives a special vibration to Istria.
